The Architecture Foundation’s urban space prize, conservation architects for the North West and a £4.1 million primary school new build. The editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions.
The Architecture Foundation with six international bodies has issued an open call for entries to the 2014 European Prize for Urban Public Space. The award is open to ‘major’ projects completed between 2012 and 2013 which have created or improved a public space within Europe. [Submissions to be received by 23 January]
Coventry City Council is on the hunt for a design team to deliver a £4.1 million primary school. Planned to complete in July 2015, the new-build project doubles the size of an existing school to create a 420-student capacity. A full design team is required, including landscape architects, engineers, CDM and quantity surveyors. [Tenders due 4 November]
The Heritage Trust for the North West is seeking conservation architects for a five-year contract covering churches, castles and stately homes. The charity expects works to include feasibility studies as well as repair and re-use, with sites spread over Cumbria, Manchester and Lancashire. [Requests to participate are due 11 November]
