Elgin’s Grant Lodge, sanitation in India and the Architecture Open. The editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions

Moray Council is looking for a design team to work on the £2.9 million restoration of Grant Lodge in Elgin’s Cooper Park, which is to become part of a new heritage trail. The successful team should have experience in ‘repair of historic buildings’ and will take the project from HLF Stage 2 to completion. [Tenders must be returned by 19 June]

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has launched a design contest to improve sanitation in India’s slums. Project Sammaan will construct 119 sanitation facilities using the contest’s winning design. The foundation has a basic floor plan and is seeking proposals to complete the design. A £1,200 prize is available. [Entries should be received by 20 May]

RIBA London is calling for submissions to its annual Architecture Open exhibition in the autumn. Open to RIBA members in London, the institute will consider works, including competition entries, concept drawings and projects both built and un-built. [Registration should be completed by 21 June]
