A university extension in Vienna, a Home Office framework and an archaeological museum in Sardinia. The editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions

Vienna’s University of Applied Arts has launched a design competition seeking proposals for a 7,000m2 city centre extension. Although located within the Austrian capital’s world heritage zone, the contest organisers call for future orientated and highly innovative responses [Requests to participate must be received by 18 October]

The UK Home Office is on the lookout for expressions of interest from architects for a four year £20 million framework agreement covering new build and refurbishment projects [Expressions of interest must be received by 29 September]

The Sardinia city of Villaputzu has invited architects to submit proposals for a new museum accompanying an archaeological site. Entries to the open ideas competition must set out to utilise two existing irrigation tanks on the sensitive site [Proposals must be received by 18 October]
