Copenhagen housing, a healthcare campus in Ireland and Toronto’s transmission line ideas contest. The Editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions

Nordic Built has opened a two-stage design competition for a £14 million residential scheme in Denmark. Located 15km from Copenhagen (pictured), it will include flats and penthouses, and focus on sustainable construction. Four shortlisted teams will each receive £32,000 to develop their ideas for the second round.
The victor will be commissioned and could win £110,000.  [Submissions must be received by 8 February 2013]

Peamount Healthcare is seeking an architect-led design team to develop a masterplan and a new-build rehabilitation unit for 100 patients on its Ireland campus. Further phases – subject to funding – include a canteen, office space, an educational facility and site landscaping works. [Requests to participate to be received by 7 January 2013]

Toronto Society of Architects has launched an ideas contest for the land corridor beneath a 5km transmission line. Open to students and professionals, one category seeks proposals for a railway underpass site. Finalists in each category will share a £3,800 prize fund. [Submissions to be returned by 4 February]
