Glasgow Institute of Architects has opened an international design contest to connect two key sites within the Seven Lochs Wetland Park. Multidisciplinary teams are invited to propose a new public route bridging the M73. A £1,750 prize fund is to be split between the winners [Registration to be completed by 7 October]

Architects are being sought to design a new city centre home for the Vancouver Art Gallery. The 28,800m² project is expected to double the museum’s current gallery space and create 2,300m² more outdoor space and a new a 300-seat auditorium [Submissions are due before 4 October]

Window supplier Velux has launched its 2014 Light of Tomorrow student contest, featuring a £25,000 prize fund. Open to students worldwide, the contest seeks proposals from teams or individuals exploring natural daylight. Awards will be presented in October 2014 [Registration must be completed by 3 March 2014]
