Ipswich Cornhill regeneration, England’s Public Forest Estate and De Montfort University in Leicester. The editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions

Ipswich Council is seeking innovative schemes for its Cornhill (pictured) regeneration project. The local authority is hoping to appoint an experienced design–led team for the project to transform Cornhill into the city’s ‘main activity hub’. [PQQs to be returned by 22 April]

Jerwood Visual Arts and Forestry Commission England are seeking ‘bold, broad-thinking’ proposals for a £30,000 commission. Ideas may use any medium and be site-specific or touring within the English Public Forest Estate. The contest is open to designers who have graduated in the past 15 years. Five shortlisted teams will each receive £2,000 to develop proposals and a winner will be announced in January 2014 [Entries to be submitted by 28 May]

De Montfort University in Leicester is seeking an architect for a £34 million refurbishment and new build project. The project comprises the 11,000m² refurbishment of a 10-storey block and a 14,000m² new build [Requests to participate to be delivered by 29 April]
