Darlington’s new arts venue, Loughborough College’s hub and Hackney City Farm. The editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions

Darlington Borough Council is on the hunt for an architect-led team to design a new arts venue for the town centre. Design work is set to begin in July thisyear and conclude in July 2013. [Requests to participate must be received by 2 April]

Loughborough College in Leicestershire has tendered for architectural design services for a new-build project called ‘the Hub’. The project is divided into two phases, with the feasibility study and RIBA Stage B first, followed by Stages C to L. The works have an estimated contract value of £155,000. [Expressions of interest must be returned by 4 April]

Hackney City Farm in London is looking for architects to design a new farm shop and information point for a 12m² site. The sustainability-focused charity has specified that only salvaged and reclaimed materials may be used to communicate the charity’s ethos. All entries will be exhibited and the winning design will be built in May. [Submissions must be received by 14 April]
