Competitions: Editor's Pick, 06.05.10

A museum and restoration project at Yorkshire’s Wentworth Castle, a halls of residence for Bath Spa University and Adam Architecture’s 2010 Student Travel Scholarship award; this week’s pick of the top competitions

Wentworth Castle (pictured) and Stainborough Park Heritage Trust has launched a competition for its World at Wentworth project. The appointed architect will take the museum scheme to RIBA Stage C and assist with the second-round Heritage Lottery Fund application.  The deadline for tenders or requests to participate is 17 May.

Bath Spa University is searching for architects to design a 600-unit hall of residence. The winner will take the project to RIBA Stage D, aiming to submit a planning application in early 2011. A masterplan for the project is about to be submitted for planning. The deadline for tenders or requests to participate is 25 June.

Robert Adam’s practice Adam Architecture has launched its 2010 Student Travel Scholarship award. The £1,500 prize, which rewards outstanding research in architecture and urban design, is open to students from Part 1 up to three years after Part 2, or equivalent qualification. The application deadline is 14 May.
