Design new housing at Hillington Square, a £75 million framework agreement, and a European housing design competition; the editor’s pick of this week’s top competitions

Freebridge Community Housing seeks an architect to lead the redesign of 15 blocks of flats comprising 320 units of social housing at Hillington Square (pictured).  The winning architect will work alongside Hemingway Design.  Winning architects are also expected to provide community investment through the development of local skills, such as supporting an apprenticeship in West Norfolk.  The deadline for receipt of tenders is 3 December.

 

Housing group Connected seeks an architect in order to implement a £75-150 million Consultants Framework Agreement (across three lots) to facilitate delivery of their new build and refurbishment projects in line with their rolling annual capital programme.  The housing associations predominately work in north and west London and the northern home counties.  The deadline for requesting documents is 26 November.

 

As part of a European competition to form a directory for high-performanace, low-cost housing, the Department of Local Development of the Municipality of Milan, Assimpredil Ance, the Order of Architects of the Province of Milan, IN/ ARCH, Lombardy Section and FederlegnoArredo have launched a design competition to promote high-quality, low cost housing design.  Participants must register by 21 January at http://www.housingcontest.com/.
