Design team needed for £3.5 million transport interchange

Portsmouth City Council has opened a call for tenders for the design of a new transport interchange forming part of the city’s new masterplan

Teams are needed to take the £3.5 million project to RIBA Stage D to support the scheme’s planning application in May 2014.

The project is expected to complete in spring 2016, and is expected to ease and improve changes between the railway station, Gosport ferry, The Hard and Gunwharf Quays.

The chosen scheme will be a ‘contemporary facility clearly legible within the townscape,’ hoped to encourage greater use of public transport in the area.

Tenders must be returned by 25 November through the allocated council page.
