Design contest launched for Swiss TV campus

Swiss public broadcaster Radio Télévision Suisse (RTS) has opened an international contest for a new 30,000m² campus in Lausanne

Set to open in 2019, the ‘Ecublens’ facility overlooking Lake Geneva will be a base for radio, television and multimedia production.

The new RTS campus will occupy a 14,000m² plot next to the university of Lausanne (UNIL) and the federal polytechnical school of Lausanne (EPFL).

The prestigious building is expected to be open to the public and students and teachers from the two nearby universities.

Competing teams must first apply to be considered for the contest. Between six and eight teams will then be shortlisted for the competition’s second starting in early June.

Participants must hold a diploma, or equivalent international qualification, permitting them to practice architecture in Switzerland.

The competition language is French and the deadline for requests to participate 26 May. A winner is expected to be announced by the end of the year.
