Contest launched for Cork hospital

Mercy University Hospital in Cork has begun a hunt for a team to design a new regional centre for gastroenterology.

With health services to be centralised for the region, the 2,500m² scheme will house endoscopy suites, laboratories and teaching spaces.

The two storey project will be built on a ‘constricted’ city centre site next to the general hospital.

The selected team will also be required to make provision for a future expansion option taking the build to five storeys.

Requests to participate should be retuned by 22 August with teams invited to tender 6 September through the log in tender service.
