Retail giant Tesco is inviting architects to submit plans for a proposed redevelopment of land in Nottingham’s Eastside area. Architecturally the store ‘will act as a standard bearer for the new development taking place across Eastside and the repositioning of Nottingham as a fast-paced urban centre’. The competition is open to all, including students. Deadline is 4 June.

The European Commission is looking for a team to design an administrative building in its Luxembourg Kirchberg Plateau complex, the modernist campus overlooking the historic town, home to buildings by Denys Lasdun, Dominque Perrault and Pei Cobb Freed & Partners. The ‘Jean Monnet 2 Building’ must ‘be a vehicle for the European Commission’s image, emphasising transparency vis-à-vis the European public, dynamism and competence’. It will occupy a 20,950m2 site, and requests to participate in the international competition must be received by 30 April.

Wakefield College is looking for a practice to assist with the redevelopment of its Margaret Street City Centre Campus. A robust masterplan is sought, which will guide the redevelopment of the College’s estate over the next 8 - 10 years. Deadline for entries is 1 April.
