Competitions: Editor's Pick 04.02.10

Norwegian blues centre, Fashion Museum in Tokyo and Chester Housing Framework - the inside track on this week’s competitions

The Norwegian town of Notodden hosts the annual Notodden Blues Festival (pictured above) and prides itself on being Norway’s blues capital. The town has launched a design contest for a blues music and community building that will ‘sizzle with activity in all corners and at all hours’. The deadline for requesting documents is 17 March.

Practices have until 9 February to meet the late registration deadline for the Fashion Museum in Tokyo, Japan. The contest is for a 100m-tall tower containing exhibition areas that will become a neighbourhood landmark.

Chester and District Housing Trust wants to appoint architects to its five-year, two-lot framework for new-build residential, mixed-use and community construction projects. Requests to participate are due by 5 March.
