Cancer Treatment Centre design competition, Basingstoke

  • Comment

[Expressions of interest to be returned by 29 June] Hampshire Hospital’s NHS Foundation Trust has launched a competition to design a new cancer treatment centre in Basingstoke

Expressions of interest are sought from architect-led multi-disciplinary teams to compete in a shortlisted selection process to provide ‘a building of outstanding architectural merit’ in order to help ‘positively reinforce the treatment process’.

The centre is due to house chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment alongside administrative and staff spaces with the contract also including landscaping, parking and any required connections to existing buildings at the hospital.

The winning team will be commissioned for feasibility, schematic and detail design stages, with the Trust’s intention to include construction supervision and project management up to and including handover.
