Camden Council seeks learning centre architect

[Requests to participate must be received 19 March] Camden Council is seeking a multidisciplinary design team for the design and construction of the Camden Centre for Learning

The project features a combination of refurbishment, remodeling and extension works. The full brief will be finalised in April.

Architect’s fee bids are currently called for in the following construction value bands.

The first band is from £1.9 million to £2.7 million covering refurbishment and remodeling on all three sites. The subsequent bands are £2.7 million to £3.5 million, £3.5 million to £4.3 million and £4.3 million to £5 million; covering refurbishment, remodeling and extension on 2 or 3 sites.

The Camden Centre for Learning will cater for 100 students aged 11-16 with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Applicants must have experience in designing educational buildings and buildings for young people outside of mainstream education.

The contract is for RIBA stages C to L and works are planned to begin on 21 May 2012 and conclude on 31 March 2015
