Birmingham City University tenders new £35m conservatoire

Birmingham City University is on the hunt for a design team to build a new conservatoire

The 12,000m² building will form part of the redevelopment of Paradise Circus in the centre of Birmingham, and will include teaching spaces, rehearsal and recital spaces, and a concert venue. The implementation of the tender is dependent on university securing the compulsory purchase of the site - a decision on which is expected in April.

If the programme runs to schedule, the building should be completed by 2017.

The successful architects will also provide landscaping and BIM design services.

Documents should be accessed by 29 January with responses expected through the university’s page.
