Architecture Foundation launches open call for architects

The Architecture Foundation has released an open call for architects to take part in workshops aimed at ‘key challenges’ inside London’s Moorings Housing Estate in Thamesmead

The ‘street to doorstep’ scheme will shortlist four teams to take part in three workshops forming design led solutions, each with support from an honorarium.

Completed in 1960, the Moorings Housing Estate is made up of 1,200 homes.

Foundation Director Sarah Ichioka added: ‘We hope that the workshops will lead to ideas that, if implemented, will result in small but significant interventions that can improve the housing estate for residents and visitors in the future.’

The workshops are due to take place in October and finished proposals will be presented in November.

Portfolios of previous works are due 23 September through the Architecture Foundation.
