Architects sought for new Dublin children’s hospital

An architect led team is sought to design a new children’s hospital covering the Greater Dublin area

A project launched by the National Paediatric Hospital Development Board, the new build will merge existing child services at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin, the Children’s University Hospital Temple Street and the National Children’s Hospital Tallaght.

To be built on the St. James’s Hospital campus in Dublin, the hospital will house an emergency department, operating theatres, outpatient and inpatient care, with 384 patient rooms.

Expected to become a ‘world class hospital’ with local services, teaching and research facilities in a ‘new national model’ the contract is expected to conclude in 2019.

A website has been created for the project, with PPQ’s available through the dedicated page to be returned by 16 August.
