Architect sought for Waterford public realm overhaul
Waterford City Council is on the hunt for an architect to upgrade its public realm
A ‘comprehensive and complete’ design solution is sought to improve streets and public areas across Ireland’s oldest city.
The project will consolidate a number of recently completed public realm schemes and regenerate previously overlooked streets.
Key elements to be integrated in the new masterplan include the city centre and Waterford’s Viking Triangle district.
The scope of works will cover Colbeck Street, Lady Lane, St. Fancis Place, Olaf Street, High Street, Arundel Square, Peter Street, Michael Street, Apple Market and John Street.
Established by Viking raiders in 853, the historic trading port is now the fifth most populous city in Ireland.
The deadline for requests to participate is 4 July.
