Architect sought for Milton Keynes gallery extension

[Expressions of interest due 4 June] The Milton Keynes Theatre and Gallery Company is on the hunt for services to design a BREEAM excellent extension

The exact scope of the final project is ‘still under consideration’, but the scheme is expected to include education suites, a cinema, social spaces, a ‘substantial’ foyer and bookshop alongside a cafe and bar.

The gallery has already carried out a feasibility study and wants to create a ‘sustainable low energy facility’ with a BREEAM Excellent rating. The scheme could include the renewal of the existing building’s mechanical services.

Work on the construction of the extension is due to start in September 2013 and complete early 2017.
