Architect sought for Aberdeen University students’ union

The University of Aberdeen is seeking an architect for a new £4.6 million students’ association

Planned to complete in 2017, the project will extend and refurbish the Butchart Recreation Centre on the university’s King’s College Campus.

The two-storey concrete structure is currently home to the association which runs more than 120 student societies.

Founded in 1495, the University of Aberdeen is the third oldest university in Scotland. Recent new buildings on the 35 hectare campus include Schmidt Hammer Lassen’s £57 million Sir Duncan Rice Library.

The deadline for requests to participate is 29 August.
