Architect needed for Vancouver Art Gallery

Architects are called for to design a new home for the Vancouver Art Gallery

The 28,800m² new building will double current exhibition space, with a 300 seat auditorium and exterior landscaping.

‘Dynamic leadership’ has been called for with the project expected to meet the ‘highest quality’.

Objectives outlined include increasing community involvement and promoting tourism while setting a bar for environmental design in Canada’s museums.

A new site has been selected in the city centre with Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson deliberately ‘placing the arts at the forefront of our city-building’.

Submissions are due before 4 October with documents available through the Gallery’s allocated page.
