Reclad Guy’s and St Thomas’ and design a new home for the National Media Museum - the inside track on this week’s most promising competitions

Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an architect to reclad the 13-storey tower at St Thomas’ Hospital in central London. A shortlist of up to six design teams will be invited to produce design proposals, with each receiving an honorarium of £15,000. Consortia applying must include, as a minimum, a contractor, an architect, engineers and a cladding specialist. The deadline for applications is 13 April.

Bradford’s National Media Museum has been planning its London expansion for several years. It hasn’t found a site but has announced that its London Galleries Project will have 1,500m2 of exhibition space. Expressions of interest are due by 3 April.

The Royal Society of Ulster Architects is running a design contest for Oaklee Homes Group for a housing development in Carryduff, near Belfast. The project for 70 new-build homes will be required to meet Level 5 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. The estimated construction cost is £8 million and requests to participate are due by 4 June.
