Epoc headset

The Epoc neurotransmitter headset will do what you think

In a few months teenagers will be controlling their computer games sans mice, joysticks, gamers input devices or even Wii remotes.

They will be thinking their moves courtesy of the Emotive System Epoc neuroheadset which you will be buying at www.emotiv.com for around $300.

No I can't quite believe it either. But similar units from OCZ Technology and NeuroSky are promised soon. Knocks my theories into a cocked hat about sitting in the bath writing this column using Dragon Naturally Speaking while viewing the text thus output on a giant monitor viewed through a sunglass-style headpiece. Soon the Emotive Systems Sotto-Voc. You just sit there in front of the monitor with this Alien-style spider draped over your head and the words just come tumbling out on the screen. No. It's not how it happens anyway. Honest.

Take a look at it here . And Businesswire, says 'The Emotiv EPOC detects over 30 different expressions, emotions and actions. These include: emotional detections such as immersion, excitement, meditation, tension and frustration; facial expressions such as smile, laugh, wink, crossed eyes, shock (eyebrows raised), anger (eyebrows furrowed), horizontal eye movement, smirk and grimace (clenched teeth); and cognitive actions such as push, pull, lift, drop and rotate (on six different axes) as well as a completely new category of action based on visualization, the first of which is the ability to make objects disappear.'

Wow.
