Another tip from the wonderful Eric Morehouse was the Materialicious blog. That is materialicious as in 'delicious' rather than 'malicious'.
Morehouse says, 'I'm stunned at the volume this guy, Justin Anthony, puts out. It started as coverage of residential materials, fixtures and furnishings and has expanded to cover residential design and more.... truly spectacular' and indeed it is.
Anthony is a New Yorker based in Phoenix, Arizona, but he is wildly omnivorous in his appetite for building materials (and architecture) from anywhere. It's true that there is a heavy US bias but I've just spent some pleasurable minutes trawling through the site of those UK blokes who recycle plastic water bottles into multi-coloured sheets.
Elsewhere in theis cornucopia of a site, try this video for a seemingly demented Japanese designer demonstrating the concertina Love chair, and next the Amazing Expanding DB Fletcher 'Rising & Furling' Table .
I can't give you the name of the recycle people because a search on any of the variants on 'recycle' comes up duds. The down side to this amazing site is the not-so-good search engine.
