Can a leopard change its box?

I see a Register correspondent  asking the question 'Can I purchase any Intel box and install Apple's Mac OS X Leopard operating system on it?' The answer seems to be yes – though the Register asks the next important question: 'Why would you?'

One answer might be that software house ChangeBase has found a hundred thousand configuration issues with the latest incarnation of the enemy, Microsoft Server, the most widely used corporate server application, so it's said. They are probably guessing but 100,000 is more than quite a lot.

Just to be even handed, another reason might be the installation nightmares people are experiencing with Leopard despite camping in the streets for the right to pay lots of dosh for it a couple of months ago. Another might be that Leopard obviously woks best on a Mac – even if it means paying an awful lot more than for a pc box.

Please don't write in. I can buy a reasonably advanced, fast and usable pc bundle for around a hundred quid. Its manifest design inferiority to anything from Apple is utterly irrelevant when it's shoved under a desk. Still, should you still want to install Leopard on a pc box go here  and to do it on the new Asus EeePC go here . Though why would you do the latter when it has a perfectly serviceable Linux system already on board?
