...And finds time to gold-plate her jugs

A little-known fact about Zaha Hadid is that beneath the tough, diva-like exterior is a heart of gold – or, in this case, a vase of gold.

Zaha has teamed up with Italian design company Alessi to create an exclusive version of her Crevasse vase in aid of Women for Women International, an organisation that addresses the needs of women in conflict and post-conflict areas around the world.

The new version of the vase is gold plated and was auctioned at the UK's first Women for Women International Gala last week.
