Sad news has hit Liverpool's celebratory year once again, with reports that a fire has ripped through the city's famous Bluecoat Gallery (AJ online 13.05.08).

But Astragal understands that there was already animosity surrounding the building even before the souring inferno.

According to Astragal's little birdie in Liverpool, Bluecoat bosses had to remove the visitors' book as it was becoming inundated by complaints and disparaging remarks. Apparently the locals were upset that the Bluecoat's garden was ripped up and replaced by the gallery's new extension.
