Engineer to the glitterati

Engineers often get hot under the collar about misuse of the term 'engineer', so it is interesting to see a case where there is a particularly chic collar under which to get hot.

The latest issue of Hello showcases the wedding of Tim Jefferies and Malin Johansson and says 'Malin dons her exquisite dress, engineered and designed for the bride by Tom Ford.'

With the current 'Skin + Bones' exhibition on at Design for London, collaborations between art and architecture are all the rage. But this particular appropriation of a serious technical term seems a stitch too far.
