Chapel Ste Rita: Joseph Faycal
This chapel overlooks the village of Zahle in Lebanon and was built to hold 20 people
Partitions unfold to accommodate up to 200 people during special celebrations. A 7m cantilevered ceiling defines the chapel space. All walls and floors are covered with granite, while the main glazing panel is made of laminated glass and features a sandblasted picture of Saint Rita. Folding doors are made from western red cedar, while the altar and benches are iroko teak.
The chapel’s false ceiling is made from gypsum board that is painted a dark grey colour.
