Central St Martins to host Stirling Prize 2013

The award ceremony for the UK’s largest architectural prize will return to London this year

The awards ceremony will be held at the Stanton Williams-designed Central St Martins College of Art and Design in King’s Cross on Thursday 26 September.

Now in its eighteenth year, the prize has previously been picked up by Stanton Williams, Zaha Hadid Architects, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and David Chipperfield Architects.

Paul Williams, director at Stanton Williams added: ‘Of course, we are delighted that the UAL campus has been chosen to host the 2013 Stirling Prize Ceremony. For us, it’s great to see that the space is being seen as an attractive venue for so many different types of art events, from Paul Smith show during fashion week to the current ‘Black Maria’ installation by Richard Wentworth in the Crossing. The project’s ambition was always intended to offer a creative framework in which changing interventions, installations and programmes could take place and clearly it’s potential is now starting to be realized.’
