The Brief

1. Create 1,500m² of uninterrupted space below street level with a ceiling height of 6m

2. Connect the V&A with Exhibition Road

3. Retain the arched screen designed by Aston Webb in 1891, which separates the site from the street

Architectural Studies for the V&A: 21 June to 19 September 2010, Victoria & Albert Museum, Cromwell Road, London SW7 2RL

The architects will discuss their design studies and the challenges involved in responding to a client’s brief on 13 July in ‘Architects and Clients – A Brief Encounter’at 7pm in the Hochhauser Auditorium, Sackler Centre, V&A. Entrance is free but ticketed.
