Bennetts Associates completes Tower of London hotel

[First look] Bennetts Associates has completed this £72 million hotel project close to the Tower of London

Replacing a 1960s building, the 12-storey structure is claimed to be largest hotel to open in the square mile.

Featuring what is alleged to be Europe’s largest living wall, the project includes a glazed foyer, roof terraces and a rooftop herb garden.

The 583-room hotel is topped with a ‘SkyLounge’ that offers views over the capital and the Tower of London UNESCO World Heritage site.

Façade materials included Jura limestone, pre-cast concrete and zinc panels, while the planted walls are set back from the main façades.

The project was built for hotel operator Mint Hotel, formerly City Inn Group. Bennetts has completed similar projects for the company in Westminster and Amsterdam.
