Judges of this year’s Stirling Prize may have been swayed by a stranger-than-life story told by a former employee of Zaha Hadid

Allegedly, she once expressed her dissatisfaction with an item of Zaha Hadid Architects furniture, lovingly completed by her assistants, by attacking it with the office chainsaw right in front of them. Perhaps the judges, wisely, didn’t want to get on Hadid’s bad side…
