Arup unwraps Coventry University engineering building

Arup Associates has completed a 1,500m2 engineering and computing building at Coventry University

The £60 million building comprises labs, offices, social areas and classrooms for 4,000 students.

Its ‘didactic’ skin drives natural ventilation, harvests solar energy and aims to influence the teaching within the building.

The BREEAM Excellent scheme is arranged in two blocks around a central square.

The architect said: ‘Innovation lies at the heart of this building that puts student activity and life at the heart of the project. Excellent environmental standards underpin every aspect of the design.’
