Arresting development - Aedas reveals new police HQ

These are the first images of the new £64 million Aedas-designed headquarters for the Greater Manchester Police Force

The 24,000 sq m scheme on the Central Park business estate is being delivered by park developer Ask:Goodman on behalf of urban regeneration company New East Manchester.

Clad in coloured glass and stone, the six-storey scheme will be lit in blue at night and has already received planning approval from Manchester City Council (April 2009).

Work will begin on the project, which will eventually house 1,000 staff, later this month and is due to complete in March 2011.
