Architype scoops planning for UEA Enterprise Centre

  • Comment

Architype has won planning for a £15.9 million building for the University of East Anglia in Norwich

The Enterprise Centre scheme will be built from renewable and locally-sourced materials and hopes to achieve both BREEAM Outstanding and Passivhaus certification.

Half of the building will provide lettable floor space for SME start up businesses including offices, meeting rooms and hot desks, with the rest housing teaching and learning facilities for the university.

The building will feature prefabricated thatch cladding panels created by local thatchers, and a rammed chalk wall.

Construction on the scheme is expected to start this summer, with the project due to complete in January 2015.
