Totally agree with John on this one its up to us as architects and business owners to stop messing around and start running our businesses properly and to start charging fees that allow us to pay our staff and ourselves what we are worth. As RIBA Hampshire Chairman I have organised as series of seminars that aim to educate us all as to how to be better in business and charge properly. RIBA president elect, Jane Duncan is fully backing the scheme and with her help we aim to roll this program out nation wide in the new year. Totally agree with you there John. Having spent in the region of 30 hours sat in traffic jams this summer going to and from the west country I believe something urgently need to be done. What is the cost of all the time wasted every single day of the summer with queues and queues of people sat doing nothing for hours. Its worked for Hindhead.,. Andy Ramus AR Design Studio

There is no mention of why architectural competitions are a good idea. I would be interested to hear his thoughts. Andy Ramus AR Design Studio.

Another waste of Architect's time, the competition thing is getting out of control.. Some clients just see it a cheap/ free way to get ideas out of us and then decide whether the project is a good idea or if they can afford it.. It's high time that there was some mandatory t and c s attached to comp briefs that protect, compensate entrances.. Andy AR Design Studio
