AJ100 Fastest Growing Practice

Winner: Eric Parry Architects - Awarded to the practice that increased its fee earnings and the number of qualified architects among its employees by the highest percentage. Eric Parry Architects was judged to have excelled on both counts

A 27 per cent rise in architects accompanied a 44 per cent increase in fee earnings. The firm’s traditionally high proportion of female employees has been maintained: more than one third of architects are female.

In east London the practice contributed a housing block to the Athletes’ Village, in west London work continues on a masterplan for a four hectare site in White City.

Overseas work has increased, notably in Qatar, while Eric Parry Designs continues to grow its portfolio of bespoke furniture, ironmongery and textiles. The Vigilia bench range, initially designed for the firm’s award-winning work at St Martin-in-the-Fields Church, London, was debuted at this year’s Milan Furniture Fair.

Last year also saw the publication of Eric Parry Architects Volume 2, which covers the practice’s work from 2002 to the present.

ORMS is highly commended for an 84 per cent increase in UK fees, including the greatest rise in fees earned per architect. Paul Davis + Partners is also highly commended for trebling overseas staff thanks to successes in Hong Kong.
