AJ Buildings Library: Editor’s Pick, May

Last month in the AJ Buildings Library: The Hopkins House, a selection of projects from the UK largest practice and the AJ100 building of the year shortlist

May saw the unveiling of this year’s AJ100. In the year that BDP celebrate their 50th birthday the practice retained the top position in the list of the UKs largest practices. Sixteen of BDP’s best projects are included in the Library including their own offices in Manchester.

The Olympic Velodrome was announced as the AJ100 Building of the Year at the award ceremony at the Grange Hotel. The project is featured in the Library alongside all the projects shortlisted for the award.

Michael Hopkins was voted to be the person who has made the greatest contribution to the profession at the awards. A selection of the 76-year-old RIBA Gold Medallist’s projects, including several projects form the archive and his own house in Hampstead, are also in the Library.
